What Does this stool Analysis Test Result Mean?

Dear sir My 1 year old baby have watery and greenish stool from last 10 days and he was admited in hospital from last 7 days his stool examination report as follows Mucus - present Pus cells -10 -15 Please sugest its ok or anything serious and how many days he take for recover .

Hello,

I can understand your concern. Green stools along with pus cells in stool test indicates presence of bacterial infection. It is common for children to get stomach infections. As far as he is in hospital and being treated by doctors with antibiotics and is hydrated, you should not worry about his health. It might take a week to 10 days for your son to completely recover from all the symptoms and gain back strength.
